His mother, the daughter of Rawahah, asked his father to give a gift from his wealth to her son. He delayed for a year, then decided to give it to him. She said, "I will not be content until you have the Messenger of Allah ﷺ witness it."So he said, "Messenger of Allah, the mother of this boy, the daughter of Rawahah, pressed me about the gift I have given him."The Messenger of Allah ﷺ asked, "Bashir, do you have other children besides this one?"He answered, "Yes."The Messenger of Allah ﷺ then asked, "Have you given each of them the same gift you have given this son of yours?"He replied, "No."The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Then do not call me as a witness, for I will not bear witness to injustice."

أن أمه ابنة رواحة سألت أباه بعض الموهبة من ماله لابنها فالتوى بها سنة ثم بدا له فوهبها له فقالت لا أرضى حتى تشهد رسول الله ﷺ فقال يا رسول الله إن أم هذا ابنة رواحة قاتلتني على الذي وهبت له فقال رسول الله ﷺ يا بشير ألك ولد سوى هذا قال نعم فقال رسول الله ﷺ أفكلهم وهبت لهم مثل الذي وهبت لابنك هذا قال لا قال رسول الله ﷺ فلا تشهدني إذا فإني لا أشهد على جور
