Fatimah bint Abu Hubaysh came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and said, "Messenger of Allah, I experience continuous bleeding and never become pure."The Messenger of Allah ﷺ replied, "That is only from a vein, not menstruation. When your menstrual period begins, refrain from prayer, and when it ends, wash the blood from yourself and pray."
أخبرنا سويد بن نصر قال حدثنا عبد الله عن هشام بن عروة عن أبيه
أن فاطمة بنت أبي حبيش أتت رسول الله ﷺ فقالت يا رسول الله إني أستحاض فلا أطهر فقال رسول الله ﷺ إنما ذلك عرق وليست بالحيضة فإذا أقبلت الحيضة فأمسكي عن الصلاة وإذا أدبرت فاغسلي عنك الدم وصلي
Bukhari narrated it in wudu, chapter on washing off blood, no. 228, and Muslim in menstruation, chapter on the woman with prolonged bleeding, her ghusl and her prayer, no. 333, from the hadith of Hisham, as above.
