Nafi reported,

Ibn Umar reported, and Zuhayr also informed us from Musa bin Uqba from Nafi from Ibn Umar, that Ibn Umar divorced his wife while she was menstruating. Umar mentioned this to the Prophet ﷺ, who said, "Order him to take her back, then let her wait until she menstruates again. When she becomes pure, if he wishes he may divorce her, and if he wishes he may keep her. That is the divorce that Allah commanded, as the Most High said, 'Divorce them at the start of their waiting period' [Talaq 65:1]."

عن ابن عمر ح و أخبرنا زهير عن موسى بن عقبة عن نافع عن ابن عمر قالوا إن ابن عمر طلق امرأته وهي حائض فذكر عمر رضي الله عنه للنبي ﷺ فقال مره فليراجعها حتى تحيض حيضة أخرى فإذا طهرت فإن شاء طلقها وإن شاء أمسكها فإنه الطلاق الذي أمر الله عز وجل به قال تعالى {فطلقوهن لعدتهن}
