The Prophet ﷺ permitted a woman in mourning for her deceased husband to use costus and azfar at the time of her purification from menstruation.

[Its chain of transmission is sahih.] Darimi narrated it, no. 2291, from the hadith of Zaidah, in full, and it is in Al-Kubra, no. 5736, and it is a portion of the hadith mentioned previously, no. 3566, and its essential content is agreed upon by Bukhari and Muslim. Hisham is Ibn Hassan.
