I asked him about that, thinking he had some knowledge of it, and he said, "Hilal bin Umaya accused his wife of committing adultery with Sharik bin Sahma. He was the maternal brother of Bara bin Malik, and he was the first to perform liaan. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ had them undertake the liaan oath against each other, then said, 'Watch closely. If she gives birth to a child who is fair-skinned, with straight hair and clear eyes, then he belongs to Hilal bin Umaya. But if she delivers one who is dark-eyed, curly-haired, and with thin legs, then he belongs to Sharik bin Sahma.'"He said, "I was later informed that she gave birth to a child who was dark-eyed, curly-haired, and with thin legs."
أخبرنا إسحق بن إبراهيم قال أنبأنا عبد الأعلى قال سئل هشام عن الرجل يقذف امرأته فحدثنا هشام عن محمد قال
عن ذلك وأنا أرى أن عنده من ذلك علما فقال إن هلال بن أمية قذف امرأته بشريك بن السحماء وكان أخو البراء بن مالك لأمه وكان أول من لاعن فلاعن رسول الله ﷺ بينهما ثم قال ابصروه فإن جاءت به أبيض سبطا قضيء العينين فهو لهلال بن أمية وإن جاءت به أكحل جعدا أحمش الساقين فهو لشريك بن السحماء قال فأنبئت أنها جاءت به أكحل جعدا أحمش الساقين
