A man divorced his wife three times, and she then married another husband who divorced her before consummating the marriage. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was asked whether she could return to her first husband.He replied, "No, not until the second husband tastes her sweetness as the first one did."
أخبرنا محمد بن المثنى قال حدثنا يحيى قال حدثني عبيد الله قال حدثني القاسم
أن رجلا طلق امرأته ثلاثا فتزوجت زوجا فطلقها قبل أن يمسها فسئل رسول الله ﷺ أتحل للأول فقال لا حتى يذوق عسيلتها كما ذاق الأول
Bukhari narrated it, chapter on Divorce, section on permitting triple divorce, etc., hadith no. 5261, from the hadith of Yahya through this chain, and Muslim, chapter on Marriage, section on the divorced woman not being lawful for her divorcer after a triple divorce until she marries another, etc., hadith no. 1433/115, from Muhammad bin Muthanna through this chain, and it is in Kubra, hadith no. 5605.
