It was narrated from the Prophet ﷺ that he said, "Three..." I then met Kathir and asked him about it, but he did not know it. I returned to Qatada and told him, and he said, "He has forgotten."Abu Abdul-Rahman said, "This is a munkar hadith."
أخبرنا علي بن نصر بن علي قال حدثنا سليمان بن حرب قال حدثنا حماد بن زيد قال قلت لأيوب هل علمت أحدا قال في أمرك بيدك أنها ثلاث غير الحسن فقال لا ثم قال اللهم غفرا إلا ما حدثني قتادة عن كثير مولى ابن سمرة عن أبي سلمة
عن النبي ﷺ قال ثلاث فلقيت كثيرا فسألته فلم يعرفه فرجعت إلى قتادة فأخبرته فقال نسي قال أبو عبد الرحمن هذا حديث منكر
Reference, [its chain is daif]. Tirmidhi narrated it in Divorce, chapter on what has been said about "your matter is in your own hand," hadith no. 1178, from Ali bin Nasr, with the same chain, and he said, gharib. It is also found in Sunan al-Kubra, no. 5603.Qatada narrated using "an," and Kathir, the freedman of Ibn Samura, denied the narration attributed to him. It is sahih as a saying of Hasan Basri.
