People would time their gifts to coincide with Ayesha's day, seeking by that to please the Messenger of Allah ﷺ.
أخبرنا إسحق بن إبراهيم قال أنبأنا عبدة بن سليمان قال حدثنا هشام عن أبيه
كان الناس يتحرون بهداياهم يوم عائشة يبتغون بذلك مرضاة رسول الله ﷺ
Bukhari related it in "Gifts," chapter "Accepting a Gift," no. 2574, and Muslim in "The Virtues of the Companions," chapter "The Virtues of Ayesha, Mother of the Believers" , no. 2441, from the hadith of Abdah, transmitted through him, and it is also in al-Kubra, no. 8899.
