The Prophet of Allah ﷺ said, "None of you should urinate into a hole."The people asked Qatada, "Why is it disliked to urinate into a hole?"He replied, "It is said that they are the dwellings of the jinn."
أخبرنا عبيد الله بن سعيد قال أنبأنا معاذ بن هشام قال حدثني أبي عن قتادة
أن نبي الله ﷺ قال لا يبولن أحدكم في جحر قالوا لقتادة وما يكره من البول في الجحر قال يقال إنها مساكن الجن
Its chain is daif. Abu Dawud narrated it in the Book of Purification, Chapter on the Prohibition of Urinating in a Hole, hadith (29), from the hadith of Muaz through the same route, and it is also found in Sunan al-Kubra, hadith (30). Nawawi graded it sahih in Majmu 2/82, and Hakim graded it as meeting the standard of the two sheikhs (Bukhari and Muslim) 1/186, and Dhahabi agreed with him.Qatada was a mudallis, as Nasai and others said (Siyar Alam Nubala 7/74), and he narrated it using "an" (without stating direct transmission).
