They claim that the Prophet ﷺ made a will appointing Ali as his successor. He called for a basin to relieve himself in it, then his soul slipped away without my realizing it. So to whom did he make a bequest? The Shaykh said, Azhar is Ibn Saad al-Samman.
Agreed upon. Bukhari narrated it in the Book of Military Expeditions, chapter on the illness and death of the Prophet ﷺ, hadith (4459), from the hadith of Azhar Sammaan. Muslim narrated it in the Book of Bequests, chapter on leaving no bequest for one who has nothing to bequeath, hadith (1636), from the hadith of Ibn Awn, with the same wording. It is also in Al-Kubra, hadith (6451).
