Anas bin Malik reported,

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ led an expedition to Khaybar, and we prayed the dawn prayer there in the dim light before sunrise. The Prophet ﷺ mounted his ride, Abu Talha mounted his, and I was riding behind Abu Talha. The Prophet of Allah ﷺ entered the narrow streets of Khaybar, and my knee was touching the thigh of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and I could see the whiteness of the thigh of the Prophet of Allah ﷺ.When he entered the village, he said, "Allah is the greatest. Khaybar is destroyed. When we descend upon the courtyard of a people, terrible is the morning of those who have been warned." He said this three times.The people had gone out to their work. Abdul-Aziz said, they exclaimed, "Muhammad!" Abdul-Aziz added, and some of our companions said, "And the army!" We took it by force.The captives were gathered together, and Dihya came and said, "Prophet of Allah, give me a slave girl from the captives."He said, "Go and take a slave girl."So he took Safiya bint Huyayy. Then a man came to the Prophet ﷺ and said, "Prophet of Allah, you have given Dihya Safiya bint Huyayy, the noblewoman of Qurayza and Nadir. She is fit for none but you."He said, "Call him to bring her."He brought her, and when the Prophet ﷺ looked at her, he said to Dihya, "Take another slave girl from the captives."The Prophet of Allah ﷺ then freed her and married her.Thabit asked him, "Abu Hamza, what dowry did he give her?"He replied, "Herself. He freed her and married her."Along the way, Umm Sulaym prepared her for him and brought her to him at night, so he awoke a bridegroom. He said, "Whoever has anything, let him bring it." A leather mat was spread out. One man brought dried curd, another brought dates, and another brought clarified butter. They mixed it all together into a sweet dish, and that was the wedding feast of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ.

أن رسول الله ﷺ غزا خيبر فصلينا عندها الغداة بغلس فركب النبي ﷺ وركب أبو طلحة وأنا رديف أبي طلحة فأخذ نبي الله ﷺ في زقاق خيبر وإن ركبتي لتمس فخذ رسول الله ﷺ وإني لأرى بياض فخذ نبي الله ﷺ فلما دخل القرية قال الله أكبر خربت خيبر إنا إذا نزلنا بساحة قوم فساء صباح المنذرين قالها ثلاث مرات قال وخرج القوم إلى أعمالهم قال عبد العزيز فقالوا محمد قال عبد العزيز وقال بعض أصحابنا والخميس وأصبناها عنوة فجمع السبي فجاء دحية فقال يا نبي الله أعطني جارية من السبي قال اذهب فخذ جارية فأخذ صفية بنت حيي فجاء رجل إلى النبي ﷺ فقال يا نبي الله أعطيت دحية صفية بنت حيي سيدة قريظة والنضير ما تصلح إلا لك قال ادعوه بها فجاء بها فلما نظر إليها النبي ﷺ قال خذ جارية من السبي غيرها قال وإن نبي الله ﷺ أعتقها وتزوجها فقال له ثابت يا أبا حمزة ما أصدقها قال نفسها أعتقها وتزوجها قال حتى إذا كان بالطريق جهزتها له أم سليم فأهدتها إليه من الليل فأصبح عروسا قال من كان عنده شيء فليجئ به قال وبسط نطعا فجعل الرجل يجيء بالأقط وجعل الرجل يجيء بالتمر وجعل الرجل يجيء بالسمن فحاسوا حيسة فكانت وليمة رسول الله ﷺ
