Qutayba informed us, saying that Hammad narrated to them from Thabit and Shuayb, from Anas, that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ freed Safiyyah and made her freedom her dowry.

ح وأنبأنا قتيبة قال حدثنا حماد عن ثابت وشعيب عن أنس أن رسول الله ﷺ أعتق صفية وجعله صداقها
Muslim narrated it in the Book of Marriage, chapter on the merit of freeing one's slave woman and then marrying her, hadith 1365/85, from Qutayba, and Bukhari, in the Book of Prayer of Fear, chapter on takbir and praying the dawn prayer in the dark, and prayer during a raid or battle, hadith 947, from the hadith of Abdul-Aziz, and Bukhari, hadith 5086, and Muslim, from Qutayba with it, by the second chain of transmission, and it is also in Kubra, hadith 5499. Hammad is Ibn Zayd, and Shuayb is Ibn Habhab.
