The Messenger of Allah ﷺ taught us the tashahhud for prayer and the tashahhud for occasions of need. He said that the tashahhud for occasions of need is, "All praise belongs to Allah. We seek His help and His forgiveness, and we seek refuge in Allah from the evils of our own selves. Whomever Allah guides, none can lead astray, and whomever Allah leaves astray, none can guide. I bear witness that there is no god but Allah, and I bear witness that Muhammad is His servant and messenger." Then he would recite three verses.
أخبرنا قتيبة قال حدثنا عبثر عن الأعمش عن أبي إسحق عن أبي الأحوص
علمنا رسول الله ﷺ التشهد في الصلاة والتشهد في الحاجة قال التشهد في الحاجة أن الحمد لله نستعينه ونستغفره ونعوذ بالله من شرور أنفسنا من يهده الله فلا مضل له ومن يضلل الله فلا هادي له وأشهد أن لا إله إلا الله وأشهد أن محمدا عبده ورسوله ويقرأ ثلاث آيات
Grading, its chain of transmission is daif. Abu Dawud narrated it in the chapter on the marriage sermon, in the section on marriage (Nikah), hadith no. 2118, from Abu Ishaq, and he narrated it using "an" (indicating a possible break in the chain). See also hadith no. 96. Tirmidhi and others graded it sahih, hadith no. 1105. It also has another chain of transmission that is disconnected.
