The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The measure of nobility that the people of this world turn to is wealth."
أخبرنا يعقوب بن إبراهيم قال حدثنا أبو تميلة عن حسين بن واقد
قال رسول الله ﷺ إن أحساب أهل الدنيا الذي يذهبون إليه المال
Sourcing, [Its isnad is sahih] Ahmad reported it: 5/353, 261, from the hadith of Husayn bin Waqid, through him. It is also in al-Kubra, no. 5335. Ibn Hibban graded it sahih: 1233, 1234, as did Hakim: 2/163, and Dhahabi concurred with him.
