I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, "Whoever lets fly an arrow in the cause of Allah, it will be a rank for him in Paradise." That day I let fly sixteen arrows.And I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, "Whoever shoots an arrow in the cause of Allah, it is equivalent to freeing a slave."

Grading, its chain of transmission is sahih.Abu Dawud reported it in the chapter on Emancipation, section on which slave is most excellent, hadith no. 3965, from the hadith of Hisham Dastawai with this chain. It is also found in Al-Kubra, hadith no. 4351. Tirmidhi graded it sahih, hadith no. 1638, as did Ibn Hibban, hadith no. 1478, and Hakim, 2/95, 121, 2503, along with Dhahabi. Baghawi graded it hasan.Abu Najeeh is Amr bin Abasa, and Qatada explicitly stated that he heard it directly, as recorded by Ibn Mubarak in the chapter on jihad, hadith no. 219, and by Bayhaqi, 9/161, and others.
