She brought her young son, who had not yet begun eating solid food, to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ sat the child in his lap, and the boy urinated on his garment. He called for water and sprinkled it over the spot without washing it.
أخبرنا قتيبة عن مالك عن ابن شهاب عن عبيد الله بن عبد الله بن عتبة
أنها أتت بابن لها صغير لم يأكل الطعام إلى رسول الله ﷺ فأجلسه رسول الله ﷺ في حجره فبال على ثوبه فدعا بماء فنضحه ولم يغسله
Bukhari narrated it in the chapter on wudu, in the section on the urine of young children, hadith 223, from the hadith of Malik, and Muslim narrated it in the chapter on purification, in the section on the ruling on the urine of a nursing infant and how to wash it, hadith 287, from the hadith of Ibn Shihab Zuhri with the same wording, in Kubra, hadith 291, and in Muwatta (Yahya's recension), 1/64.
