Abdullah bin Abbas reported,
The Prophet ﷺ said regarding a man who has intercourse with his wife while she is menstruating that he should give a Dinar or half a Dinar in charity.

Its isnad is sahih. Abu Dawud transmitted it, Taharah, chapter on approaching a menstruating woman, no. 264/2168, and Ibn Majah, Taharah, chapter on the expiation for one who approaches a menstruating woman, no. 640, from the hadith of Yahya bin Saeed Qattan through this route. It is also found in Al-Kubra, no. 282, and Hakim graded it sahih, 1/171–172, as did Dhahabi and others.
