Ayesha reported,

"What is this for?"She replied, "This is for the geckos, because the Prophet of Allah ﷺ told us that nothing failed to try to extinguish the fire upon Ibrahim except for this creature, so he ordered us to kill it. He forbade the killing of household snakes except for the one with two stripes on its back and the short-tailed one, for these two blind the sight and cause women to miscarry what is in their wombs."

ما هذا فقالت لهذه الوزغ لأن نبي الله ﷺ حدثنا أنه لم يكن شيء إلا يطفئ على إبراهيم عليه السلام إلا هذه الدابة فأمرنا بقتلها ونهى عن قتل الجنان إلا ذا الطفيتين والأبتر فإنهما يطمسان البصر ويسقطان ما في بطون النساء
