Regarding tamattu in Hajj, he said, "It was a concession granted to us."

Muslim narrated it in the Hajj chapter "The Permissibility of Tamattu", hadith no. 161/1224, from the hadith of Abdul-Rahman bin Mahdi through this chain, without mentioning Amash. It is also found in Kubra, hadith no. 3791. Muslim also narrated it through another route from Amash through this chain as well, hadith no. 160/1224.
