I used to braid the necklaces for the sacrificial sheep that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ would offer, after which he would remain in a non-consecrated state.
أخبرنا الحسن بن محمد الزعفراني عن عبيدة عن منصور عن إبراهيم عن الأسود
لقد رأيتني أفتل قلائد الغنم لهدي رسول الله ﷺ ثم يمكث حلالا
Bukhari transmitted it in the Book of Hajj, chapter on garlanding sheep, hadith no. 1703, and Muslim in the Book of Hajj, chapter on the desirability of sending the sacrificial animal to the sanctuary for one who does not wish to go himself, hadith no. 1321/365, from the hadith of Mansur bin Mutamir, through this same chain. It is also found in Kubra, hadith no. 3760.
