I used to braid the garlands for the sacrificial animals of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, then he would remain among us without entering the state of ihram.
أخبرنا عمرو بن علي قال حدثنا يحيى قال حدثنا إسمعيل قال حدثنا عامر عن مسروق
إن كنت لأفتل قلائد هدي رسول الله ﷺ ثم يقيم ولا يحرم
Reported by Muslim, Hajj, chapter "The recommendation of sending the sacrificial animal to the sanctuary" etc, no. 1321/370, from the hadith of Ismail bin Abu Khalid, and Bukhari, Hajj, chapter "Placing collars on sheep," no. 1704, from the hadith of Amir Shaybi with the same chain, and it is in Al-Kubra, no. 3758.
