Sabi reported,

I was a Christian bedouin, and then I became a Muslim. I was eager for jihad, but I found that Hajj and Umrah were prescribed for me. So I went to a man of my clan named Huraym bin Abdullah and asked him about it.He said, "Combine the two, then sacrifice whatever animal you can afford."So I entered the state of consecration for both of them. When I reached Udhayb, Salman bin Rabia and Zayd bin Sawhan met me while I was in that state for both. One of them said to the other, "This fellow is no more learned than his camel."So I went to Umar and said, "Commander of the Believers, I became a Muslim and I was eager for jihad, but I found that Hajj and Umrah were prescribed for me. So I went to Huraym bin Abdullah and said, 'My good man, I have found that Hajj and Umrah are prescribed for me.' He said, 'Combine the two, then sacrifice whatever animal you can afford.' So I entered the state of consecration for both. When we reached Udhayb, Salman bin Rabia and Zayd bin Sawhan met me, and one of them said to the other, 'This fellow is no more learned than his camel.'"Umar said, "You have been guided to the sunnah of your Prophet."ﷺ The narrator said, I went to Umar and related the story to him, except for the words "my good man."
