Jabir bin Abdullah reported,

Ali narrated about the farewell pilgrimage of the Prophet ﷺ, telling us that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Had I known earlier what I have come to know now, I would not have brought the sacrificial animals along, and I would have made it an Umrah. So whoever does not have a sacrificial animal with him should exit the state of ihram and make it an Umrah."Ali arrived from Yemen with sacrificial animals, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ had brought sacrificial animals from Madinah. Ali found that Fatimah had put on dyed garments and applied kohl to her eyes.Ali said, "I went off to complain about her and seek a ruling from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. I said, 'Messenger of Allah, Fatimah has put on dyed clothes and applied kohl, and she said my father ﷺ told me to do so.'"He replied, "She spoke the truth, she spoke the truth, she spoke the truth. I am the one who told her to do it."

أخبرنا محمد بن المثنى قال حدثنا يحيى بن سعيد عن جعفر بن محمد قال حدثني أبي قال أتينا

جابرا فسألناه

عن حجة النبي ﷺ فحدثنا أن رسول الله ﷺ قال لو استقبلت من أمري ما استدبرت لم أسق الهدي وجعلتها عمرة فمن لم يكن معه هدي فليحلل وليجعلها عمرة وقدم علي رضي الله عنه من اليمن بهدي وساق رسول الله ﷺ من المدينة هديا وإذا فاطمة قد لبست ثيابا صبيغا واكتحلت قال فانطلقت محرشا أستفتي رسول الله ﷺ فقلت يا رسول الله إن فاطمة لبست ثيابا صبيغا واكتحلت وقالت أمرني به أبي ﷺ قال صدقت صدقت صدقت أنا أمرتها
