I saw the gleam of perfume in the parting of the hair of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ three days later.
أخبرنا عمران بن يزيد قال حدثنا علي بن حجر قال حدثنا سفيان عن عطاء بن السائب عن إبراهيم عن الأسود
لقد رأيت وبيص الطيب في مفارق رسول الله ﷺ بعد ثلاث
[Sahih] Ahmad reported it in 41/6, and Humaydi in his Musnad, no. 217, from Sufyan bin Uyayna, through this chain, explicitly stating direct hearing. The hadith is also found in Kubra, no. 3682, and it has very many corroborating narrations, one of which is the hadith that follows.
