A man stood up and asked, "Messenger of Allah, what clothing do you command us to wear while in ihram?"The Messenger of Allah ﷺ replied, "Do not wear shirts, trousers, turbans, hooded cloaks, or leather socks, unless someone has no sandals, in which case let him wear leather socks cut below the ankles. Do not wear any garment touched by saffron or wars dye. A woman in ihram must not cover her face with a veil, nor wear gloves."
أخبرنا قتيبة قال حدثنا الليث عن نافع
قام رجل فقال يا رسول الله ماذا تأمرنا أن نلبس من الثياب في الإحرام فقال رسول الله ﷺ لا تلبسوا القميص ولا السراويلات ولا العمائم ولا البرانس ولا الخفاف إلا أن يكون أحد ليست له نعلان فليلبس الخفين ما أسفل من الكعبين ولا تلبسوا شيئا من الثياب مسه الزعفران ولا الورس ولا تنتقب المرأة الحرام ولا تلبس القفازين
Bukhari reported it in the Book of the Reward for Game, in the chapter on what is forbidden of perfume for the muhrim man and woman, hadith 1838, from the hadith of Layth bin Saad through this route. It is also found in Al-Kubra, hadith 3653, and see also hadith 2671.
