The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever begs while possessing forty dirhams is being importunate in his asking."
أخبرنا أحمد بن سليمان قال أنبأنا يحيى بن آدم عن سفيان بن عيينة عن داود بن شابور
قال رسول الله ﷺ من سأل وله أربعون درهما فهو الملحف
[Hasan] Bayhaqi narrated it in 7/24 from the hadith of Ibn Uyayna through the same chain, and it is also in Sunan al-Kubra, no. 2375, and Ibn Khuzayma graded it sahih, no. 2448, and the following hadith serves as a corroborating witness for it.
