The Messenger of Allah ﷺ sent me to Yemen and commanded me to take a tenth from crops watered by rain, and half a tenth from crops irrigated by water-wheels.
أخبرنا هناد بن السري عن أبي بكر وهو ابن عياش عن عاصم عن أبي وائل
بعثني رسول الله ﷺ إلى اليمن فأمرني أن آخذ مما سقت السماء العشر وفيما سقي بالدوالي نصف العشر
Grading, hasan. Abu Dawud, Zakat, chapter, On the zakat of grazing livestock, hadith 1576 and 3038, from the hadith of Shaqiq Abu Waail, through the same chain, and it is also in Kubra, hadith 2269, though Nasai graded it daif (Tuhfat Ashraf, 8/400). The hadith has many corroborating narrations, among them the preceding hadith.
