The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "When the zakat collector comes to you, let him depart pleased with you."
أخبرنا زياد بن أيوب قال حدثنا إسمعيل هو ابن علية قال أنبأنا داود عن الشعبي قال
قال رسول الله ﷺ إذا أتاكم المصدق فليصدر وهو عنكم راض
[Sahih]. Narrated by Muslim, in Zakat, chapter on satisfying the tax collector as long as he does not demand something unlawful, hadith no. 989/177, from the hadith of Ismail bin Ulaya, with the same wording. See the preceding hadith. It is also found in Kubra, hadith no. 2241.
