The Prophet's ﷺ tax collector came to us, so I went to him and sat down beside him. I heard him say, "My instructions are that we are not to take a milking mother, nor combine what is separated, nor separate what is combined."A man then brought him a fat-humped she-camel and said, "Take this one."But he refused.
أخبرنا هناد بن السري عن هشيم عن هلال بن خباب عن ميسرة أبي صالح
أتانا مصدق النبي ﷺ فأتيته فجلست إليه فسمعته يقول إن في عهدي أن لا نأخذ راضع لبن ولا نجمع بين متفرق ولا نفرق بين مجتمع فأتاه رجل بناقة كوماء فقال خذها فأبى
[Its chain is daif] Narrated by Abu Dawud in the Book of Zakat, chapter on the zakat due on grazing livestock, hadith no. 1579, from Abu Dawud, the hadith of Hilal, with this wording. It is also found in Sunan al-Kubra, hadith no. 2237. Abu Layla Kindi also narrated it from Suwayd, with this wording, at hadith no. 1580. The hadith has corroborating support.
