Abdullah bin Masud reported,

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "There is no man who possesses wealth and fails to pay what is due on it but that a bald-headed serpent is made into a collar around his neck. He flees from it while it pursues him."Then he recited its confirmation from the Book of Allah عز وجل, "And let not those who withhold what Allah has given them of His bounty think that it is good for them. Rather, it is bad for them. What they withheld will be hung around their necks on the Day of Resurrection" [Al Imran 3:180], continuing to the end of the verse.
