The Prophet ﷺ used to fast three days of every month.
أخبرنا يوسف بن سعيد قال حدثنا حجاج عن شريك عن الحر بن صياح قال سمعت
كان النبي ﷺ يصوم ثلاثة أيام من كل شهر
[Sahih] Ahmad reported it: 2/90, from Hajjaj bin Muhammad, through him, and it is in al-Kubra, no. 2721, and the hadith has many corroborating narrations.
