The Messenger of Allah ﷺ set out in the year of the Conquest during Ramadan while fasting, until when he reached al-Kadid, he broke his fast.
أخبرنا قتيبة قال حدثنا سفيان عن الزهري عن عبيد الله بن عبد الله
خرج رسول الله ﷺ عام الفتح صائما في رمضان حتى إذا كان بالكديد أفطر
Muslim narrated it (no. 1113, see the preceding hadith, no. 2311) from Qutayba, and Bukhari, jihad, chapter on setting out during Ramadan, no. 2953, from the hadith of Sufyan bin Uyayna, similarly, and it is in Al-Kubra, no. 2622.
