Umm Habiba bint Jahsh, the wife of Abdul-Rahman bin Awf and the sister of Zaynab bint Jahsh, suffered from prolonged irregular bleeding. She sought a ruling from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and he said to her, "This is not menstrual bleeding, but rather a vein. So when your menstrual period ends, perform the full bath and pray, and when it begins, stop praying."Ayesha said, She used to perform the full bath for every prayer and pray. Sometimes she would bathe in a tub in the room of her sister Zaynab, who was with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, until the redness of the blood would rise to the surface of the water and overflow. Then she would go and pray with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and that did not prevent her from praying.

استحيضت أم حبيبة بنت جحش امرأة عبد الرحمن بن عوف وهي أخت زينب بنت جحش فاستفتت رسول الله ﷺ فقال لها رسول الله ﷺ إن هذه ليست بالحيضة ولكن هذا عرق فإذا أدبرت الحيضة فاغتسلي وصلي وإذا أقبلت فاتركي لها الصلاة قالت عائشة فكانت تغتسل لكل صلاة وتصلي وكانت تغتسل أحيانا في مركن في حجرة أختها زينب وهي عند رسول الله ﷺ حتى أن حمرة الدم لتعلو الماء وتخرج فتصلي مع رسول الله ﷺ فما يمنعها ذلك من الصلاة
