Fatimah bint Qays reported,

A woman from Banu Asad of Quraysh came to the Prophet ﷺ and mentioned that she was experiencing prolonged bleeding. She reported that he said to her, "That is only a vein. When your menstruation begins, leave off prayer, and when it ends, wash the blood from yourself and then pray."
