Two Muslim men were struck down on the day of Taif and were carried to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. He ordered that they be buried where they had fallen. Ibn Muayyah was born during the lifetime of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ.
أخبرنا إسحق بن إبراهيم قال أنبأنا وكيع قال حدثنا سعيد بن السائب عن رجل يقال له
أصيب رجلان من المسلمين يوم الطائف فحملا إلى رسول الله ﷺ فأمر أن يدفنا حيث أصيبا وكان ابن معية ولد على عهد رسول الله ﷺ
