A funeral procession once passed by the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and he stood up. It was said to him, "It is the funeral of a Jew."He replied, "We only stood for the angels."
أخبرنا إسحق قال أنبأنا النضر قال حدثنا حماد بن سلمة عن قتادة
أن جنازة مرت برسول الله ﷺ فقام فقيل إنها جنازة يهودي فقال إنما قمنا للملائكة
[Hasan]. It is in Al-Kubra, hadith: 2055. Qatada is using ambiguous transmission wording (anana), but his hadith has a corroborating witness in Ahmad: 4/ (see the preceding hadith: 1924). Ishaq is Ibn Ibrahim, meaning Ibn Rahawayh, and Nadr is Ibn Shumayl.
