He informed him that a poor woman had fallen ill, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was told about her illness. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to visit the poor and inquire about them, so he said, "If she dies, let me know."Her funeral was carried out at night, and the people disliked waking the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. When morning came, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was informed of what had happened with her.He said, "Did I not order you to inform me about her?"They replied, "Messenger of Allah, we disliked waking you at night."So the Messenger of Allah ﷺ went out, arranged the people in rows at her grave, and pronounced four takbirs.
أخبرنا قتيبة في حديثه عن مالك عن ابن شهاب
أنه أخبره أن مسكينة مرضت فأخبر رسول الله ﷺ بمرضها وكان رسول الله ﷺ يعود المساكين ويسأل عنهم فقال رسول الله ﷺ إذا ماتت فآذنوني فأخرج بجنازتها ليلا وكرهوا أن يوقظوا رسول الله ﷺ فلما أصبح رسول الله ﷺ أخبر بالذي كان منها فقال ألم آمركم أن تؤذنوني بها قالوا يا رسول الله كرهنا أن نوقظك ليلا فخرج رسول الله ﷺ حتى صف بالناس على قبرها وكبر أربع تكبيرات
