Sourcing, [its chain of transmission is sahih] Abu Dawud narrated it in the chapter on funerals, in the section on musk for the deceased, hadith no. 3158, from the hadith of Mustamirr with this wording, and it is also found in Kubra, hadith no. 2033. Muslim also narrated it, hadith no. 2252, through another route from Abu Nadra with this wording (see the previous hadith).
