He fell unconscious, and his slave-mother began to weep. When he came to, he said to her, "Did the words of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ not reach you?"We asked her about it, and she said, He said, "He is not one of us who wails loudly, shaves his head, or tears his clothes in grief."
أخبرنا محمد بن المثنى قال حدثنا محمد قال حدثنا شعبة عن منصور عن إبراهيم عن يزيد بن أوس
أنه أغمي عليه فبكت أم ولد له فلما أفاق قال لها أما بلغك ما قال رسول الله ﷺ فسألناها فقالت قال ليس منا من سلق وحلق وخرق
[Sahih] Ahmad narrated it, 4/396, from Muhammad bin Jafar Ghundar, and Abu Dawud, in the Book of Funerals, chapter on wailing, no. 3130, from the hadith of Mansur, in the same wording, and it is also found in Kubra, no. 1992. It has a corroborating report agreed upon by Bukhari, no. 1296, and Muslim, no. 104.
