He said, the last of the two practices of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was to abandon performing ablution after eating what had been touched by fire.
أخبرنا عمرو بن منصور، قال حدثنا علي بن عياش، قال حدثنا شعيب، عن محمد بن المنكدر، قال
قال كان آخر الأمرين من رسول الله ﷺ ترك الوضوء مما مست النار.
[Its chain of transmission is sahih] Abu Dawud narrated it in Kitab al-Tahara, Chapter on abandoning wudu after eating something touched by fire, Hadith 192, from the hadith of Ali bin Ayyash, by this route. It also appears in al-Kubra, Hadith 188. Ibn Khuzayma, Ibn Hibban, and others graded it sahih.
