The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to pray witr reciting "Glorify the name of your Lord, the Most High" [Ala 87:1], "Say, O disbelievers" [Kafirun 109:1], and "Say, He is Allah, the One" [Ikhlas 112:1]. When he gave the closing salam, he would say, "Glory be to the King, the Holy," three times, raising his voice on the third.
أخبرنا عمرو بن يزيد قال حدثنا بهز بن أسد قال حدثنا شعبة عن سلمة وزبيد عن ذر
أن رسول الله ﷺ كان يوتر بسبح اسم ربك الأعلى وقل يا أيها الكافرون وقل هو الله أحد وكان يقول إذا سلم سبحان الملك القدوس ثلاثا ويرفع صوته بالثالثة
[sahih] See the previous hadith. It was also related by Ahmad, 3/406, from the hadith of Shubah with the same chain, and it is found in Al-Kubra, hadith no. 1435.
