The Prophet ﷺ used to pray witr with five units, sitting only in the last of them.
أخبرنا إسحق بن منصور قال أنبأنا عبد الرحمن عن سفيان عن هشام بن عروة عن أبيه
أن النبي ﷺ كان يوتر بخمس ولا يجلس إلا في آخرهن
Muslim recorded it in the Book of the Prayer of Travelers, Chapter on the Night Prayer and the Number of Rakahs the Prophet ﷺ Performed at Night, etc., hadith no. 123/737, from the hadith of Hisham, with this chain, and it is also in Al-Kubra, hadith no. 1407.
