The Prophet ﷺ said, "The witr is one rakah at the end of the night."
أخبرنا محمد بن بشار قال حدثنا يحيى ومحمد قالا حدثنا ثم ذكر كلمة معناها شعبة عن قتادة عن أبي مجلز
عن النبي ﷺ قال الوتر ركعة من آخر الليل
Muslim reported it, no: 154/752, from Muhammad bin Bashshar with this chain (see the previous hadith), and it is also in Kubra, no: 1397.
