The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to perform the witr prayer while riding his camel.
أخبرنا قتيبة قال حدثنا مالك عن أبي بكر بن عمر بن عبد الرحمن بن عبد الله بن عمر بن الخطاب عن سعيد بن يسار قال
أن رسول الله ﷺ كان يوتر على البعير

Bukhari transmitted it, Witr, Chapter on Witr while riding, hadith 999, and Muslim, Prayer of the Traveler, Chapter on the permissibility of the supererogatory prayer while riding... etc, hadith 36/700, from the hadith of Malik through this chain, and it is in Muwatta (Yahya) 1/124, and Kubra, hadith 1395.
