Abu Dharr reported,

There are three whom Allah عز وجل loves.A man who comes to a people and asks them by Allah, not by any kinship between him and them, and they refuse him, so one man stays back behind them and gives to him secretly, with none knowing of his gift except Allah عز وجل and the one who received it.And a people who travel through the night until, when sleep becomes more beloved to them than anything that could be weighed against it, they dismount and lay down their heads, but one man rises to beseech Me devotedly and recite My verses. And a man who is in a military expedition, and they meet the enemy and are routed, but he turns his chest forward until he is either killed or granted victory.
