The Messenger of Allah ﷺ prayed the Maghrib prayer in the mosque of Banu Abd al-Ashhal. When he had finished, some people stood up to perform voluntary prayers, so the Prophet ﷺ said, "You should perform this prayer in your homes."
أخبرنا محمد بن بشار قال أنبأنا إبراهيم بن أبي الوزير قال حدثنا محمد بن موسى الفطري
صلى رسول الله ﷺ صلاة المغرب في مسجد بني عبد الأشهل فلما صلى قام ناس يتنفلون فقال النبي ﷺ عليكم بهذه الصلاة في البيوت
[Its chain is hasan] Tirmidhi transmitted it in Salah, chapter on what has been mentioned about prayer after Maghrib etc., hadith no. 604, from Muhammad bin Bashshar with this chain, and Tirmidhi said, "Gharib." Ibn Khuzayma graded it sahih, hadith no. 1201, and it has corroborating narrations. See also Nil, hadith no. 1300.
