I used to pray with the Prophet ﷺ, and his prayer was moderate in length and his sermon was moderate in length.
أخبرنا قتيبة قال حدثنا أبو الأحوص عن سماك
كنت أصلي مع النبي ﷺ فكانت صلاته قصدا وخطبته قصدا
Reported by Muslim, Jumuah, chapter on shortening the prayer and the sermon, no. 866, from the hadith of Abu Ahwas through this same chain, and it is also in Kubra, no. 1787.
