Jabir bin Abdullah reported,

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to say in his sermon, praising Allah and extolling Him as He deserves, then he would say, "Whomever Allah guides, none can lead astray, and whomever He leads astray, none can guide. The truest speech is the Book of Allah, the best guidance is the guidance of Muhammad, and the worst of matters are newly invented ones. Every newly invented matter is an innovation, every innovation is misguidance, and every misguidance leads to the Fire."Then he would say, "I and the Hour were sent like these two," holding up his fingers.Whenever he mentioned the Hour, his cheeks would redden, his voice would rise, and his anger would intensify, as though he were warning of an approaching army, saying, "It will come upon you in the morning or in the evening!"Then he said, "Whoever leaves behind wealth, it is for his family, and whoever leaves behind a debt or dependents in need, then it falls to me and is upon me to settle, for I am closer to the believers than they are to themselves."

أخبرنا عتبة بن عبد الله قال أنبأنا ابن المبارك عن سفيان عن جعفر بن محمد عن أبيه

عن جابر بن عبد الله قال

كان رسول الله ﷺ يقول في خطبته يحمد الله ويثني عليه بما هو أهله ثم يقول من يهده الله فلا مضل له ومن يضلله فلا هادي له إن أصدق الحديث كتاب الله وأحسن الهدي هدي محمد وشر الأمور محدثاتها وكل محدثة بدعة وكل بدعة ضلالة وكل ضلالة في النار ثم يقول بعثت أنا والساعة كهاتين وكان إذا ذكر الساعة احمرت وجنتاه وعلا صوته واشتد غضبه كأنه نذير جيش يقول صبحكم مساكم ثم قال من ترك مالا فلأهله ومن ترك دينا أو ضياعا فإلي أو علي وأنا أولى بالمؤمنين
