Regarding the prayer of fear, he said, "The imam stands facing the qiblah, and a group from among them stands with him while another group stands facing the enemy with their faces toward the enemy. He leads them in one rakah, and they themselves bow and perform two prostrations in their place. Then they go to take the position of the other group, and the other group comes forward, and he leads them in bowing and performs two prostrations with them. So he has prayed two rakahs, while they have prayed one. Then they each pray one rakah and perform two prostrations."

في صلاة الخوف قال يقوم الإمام مستقبل القبلة وتقوم طائفة منهم معه وطائفة قبل العدو ووجوههم إلى العدو فيركع بهم ركعة ويركعون لأنفسهم ويسجدون سجدتين في مكانهم ويذهبون إلى مقام أولئك ويجيء أولئك فيركع بهم ويسجد بهم سجدتين فهي له ثنتان ولهم واحدة ثم يركعون ركعة ركعة ويسجدون سجدتين
