The Messenger of Allah ﷺ went out one day to pray for rain. He turned his back to the people, faced the qiblah, and supplicated to Allah. He turned his cloak inside out, then prayed two rakahs.Ibn Abu Dhib added in the hadith that he recited aloud during them.
قال الحارث بن مسكين قراءة عليه وأنا أسمع عن ابن وهب عن ابن أبي ذئب ويونس عن ابن شهاب قال
خرج رسول الله ﷺ يوما يستسقي فحول إلى الناس ظهره يدعو الله ويستقبل القبلة وحول رداءه ثم صلى ركعتين قال ابن أبي ذئب في الحديث وقرأ فيهما
Muslim narrated it in the Book of the Prayer for Rain, chapter on the Prayer for Rain, hadith 4/894, from the hadith of Ibn Wahb from Yunus, and Bukhari, in the Book of the Prayer for Rain, chapter on reciting aloud in the Prayer for Rain, hadith 1024, from the hadith of Zuhri, with the same, and it is in Kubra, 1810.
